Well it's been a little while since I have written anything, but here it goes.
In the past couple of weeks we have been out getting a few caches. The first one that we were able to grab was a quick altoids tin located at a nice little restaurant. We had just finished having pie with a friend of ours, and decided to grab this one with him in tow. We walked across the street, and over to the phone booth were it was located. Quick feel around the phone booth, and we had it. We pulled the log out of the tin, and signed it. From there we decided to try and grab one we had DNF'd a few days before. Maybe with a fresh set of new eyes we would be able to find it. We drove over to the cache location, and started our search. We found the same things that we had seen before, but no cache was to be found. We all searched for around 20 minutes, and wasnt able to find it. We had to make sure that we were quiet as it was around 11 or 12 at night.
The next time that we went out caching was a nice Sunday afternoon. We decided to go after the cache we had DNF'd twice already. We drove to the location of it, and started to search around. This time we didnt have to DNF that cache though. We were able to find it within a matter of moments after starting to look for it. We traded out a Disney pin for a Tao of Pooh book, and took a TB with us. Then we headed out to find another cache.
This cache however proved to be elusive to us. We searched around an old abandoned Airplane Terminal for around 20 minutes with no luck. The security guard that patrolled the area came over to us, and asked us what we were doing there. We explained what we were doing there to him, by saying we were playing a high tech scavenger hunt. He seemed to take this answer ok, and left us to do as we were. We searched a little more for the cache, but alas it wasnt for the finding that day.
The next one took us to a very old bridge that has been around at least 50 to 60 years. It is a real nice almost Gothic style to it. It was a real quick park and grab from a metal road divider. We signed the log and left before people could come out and ask what we were up to. Dont want people thinking we are up to bad things.
The last one for this day was a quick park and grad at the mall by our house. We drove over to it, and grabbed the LPS cache. We had to do this quick because we didnt want people, or mall security to say something to us. We left the cache just after signing the log.
All in all we have had a good time these past few weeks. We are currently in the planning stages for a multi/puzzle cache that will take people to old airfields all around the area. This series will not just be a historical one, but also a very challenging puzzle. It will test people mind at each point.
This is all for now. Have a great day. I hope you enjoy our caching adventures as much as we do.

Ok so these next few adventures I did on my own as Catherine was sick, and they were on my way to school.
The first one I picked up alone was a pain. The first time I tried to grab it at my train station there were far to many people around so I didnt wanna try for it. I was to afraid of it getting muggled if I did and someone saw. I decided to wait until the next morning to grab it as there would be less people there. Come the next morning I was right a lot less people, and I was able to grab it like it was nothing. Upon opening up the micro I was able to see the log was full, so I brought it home to fix it. I know that is not a good idea, and I should have just done a needs maintenance log on it, but I was able to get it done quicker just doing it myself. I left to return it later that day with a new signed log by me. I still have the log that was in it. I asked the CO if they wanted it, and they have never replied. Spoils of war I guess.
The next one I went for a couple days later was at a gas station right by my house. It was a nice little find at like 11 at night. I just strolled over, and found the nice little bison tube lamp post hide with ease. Signed the log, and had no problems re hiding it. Nice little night time find if I do say so.
The last one was found on my way to school by my local CVS store. Same kind of bison tube hide. It was under the lamp post like most of the urban hides around my area. Was able to ssign and replace without much attention from people. Its amazing how people tend to over look you if you look like you belong.
So far so good with this game. Have to go back and find a few that were missed, but all in all having fun.

Geocaching begins
This all started a few weeks ago when Catherine and I got our car GPS unit. In going ot the manufactures website to update the maps I saw a link for Geocaching. In looking at the site I thought it might be a fun thing to do, kind of a mix between adventures, and treasure hunting with a high tech twist. So a couple of Sundays ago we set off for our first finds.
We left the house around 11 in the morning so that we could grab our starbucks, and get started. We started our hunt with very simple finds we thought. The first one we came to was supposed to be hidden on a mountain side close to our local observatory. After searching for almost half an hour we gave up on that one, and decided to move on.
The next one that we went go looking for we were unable to find also. This time though the area was closed off due to work being done at the park that kept us from it. We did however go to the local information center and got a really nice map of the trails in the area. We figured this would come in handy on later adventures that we will be having. Then next cache we went for was at the local Merry-Go-Round. There were a lot of people around which meant even if we found it we couldnt get to it. That didnt stop us from figuring out its location. We decided its beter to come back and grab it another time.
After that it was off to the next cache we went. For this one we had to take off to Travel Town. We were able to find this one without much difficulty. It was a nice little find I must say. The swag wasnt all that great, but who cares. We got to finally sign a log book. Yay for us. We ended up trading a little linus swag piece for a Japanese phone charm I had. Then it was off to the next one, and last one for the day.
This one led us away from the park to a local bridge to go search. After getting there we looked all around the bridge, and just wasnt able to find it at all. We must have spent a good 15 to 20 minutes looking for it. I am sure other passers by must have thought we looked weird searching a bridge. We didnt care though. But to no avail we were unable to locate the cache. That was the end of our journey that day.
